Danish 1973 to 2011 pop group that came came to a sudden halt when leadsinger Flemming Bamse Jørgensen died in 2011. The band first came to notice with a Danish rendition of "The Lion Sleeps Tonite (Wimoweh)", starting a career based on turning classic rock and pop songs into Danish language novelty pop. The band is almost synonym with lead singer Flemming "Bamse" Jørgensen who released solo albums simultaneously with band releases. Over time his song writing has taken more prominence in the band repertoire.Bamses Venner represented Denmark in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest with "Tænker Altid På Dig".
Following the death of Jørgensen, the band members have played a few concerts with Stig Rossen as their new leadsinger.
