Born 8. December 1821 in Vinkovci, Croatia. Died 2. February 1878 in Novi Sad.Being army officer, he wrote music for a poem by Antun Mihanović in 1846. Since 1891, under name "Lijepa Naša Domovino", it is national anthem of Croatia.
