Biography
In 1994, shortly after Little Nemo parted ways, Olivier Champeau started producing solo and playing live with electronic gear, featuring drummer Philippe Scorier (Dr Olive & Carton Pâte). Signed in 1996 to main Belgian electro label R&S (two 12" in 97). In 98 major Belgian acts such as Hooverphonic and DAAU commissioned remixes by Dr O. He founded his own label, Les Disques Bazoline in 1999, to release a debut CD-album 1st DJ on the Moon (acclaimed by press and licensed to a US label), followed by Screenage Boogie in 2001. Bazoline label released other artists' albums and compilations selected/mixed by Olive, until it was shut down in 2004. One off contributions with labels such as Missive Music (Paris) and Dirty Dancing (Brussels) followed in 2005. In the meantime, Olive has played live or DJ-ed in 10 countries, from Russia to the US, at major events such as the Berlin Love Parade, SXSW (Austin), Ten Days of Techno (Ghent), or Arezzo Wave Festival (It.). In 2013, after a hiatus, his complete discog was re-issued online, added to a collection of unreleased tracks from 2002-05 (Return of the Legendary Lost Jukebox) among which Olive reconnected with lead singing, his original skill.
Due for a June 2016 release: a brand new EP (limited vinyl 12" + major download shops) involving several guests performers (The Hoperators), based on lesser electronics, more guitars, wind instruments and lead vocals, shaping a rock/pop/psychedelic renaissance.
