Horace Stevens
Real name: Horace Ernest Stevens
Australian bass-baritone (b. Melbourne 26 October 1876 – d. Melbourne 18 November 1950).Originally a dentist. Served in Ambulance Corps during WWI, and afterwards went to London where he made his debut with the Queen's Hall Orchestra in 1919. Performed at music festivals and in operas. Recorded extensively for Vocalion (1920-1925) & Decca (1930-1931). Later returned to Australia and taught singing at University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music 1938-
