Clem Croft was born in Perth in 1936 and started his career in the early 1950s. In the early 60s he ventured to Sydney where he auditioned for the Festival label. Securing a recording contract his first single ''Yeah Yeah Baby'' was backed by Col Joye and The Joy Boys. For the next decade Croft toured the length and breadth of Australia which included appearing on many TV shows like Bandstand etc. Clem returned to Perth and played at almost every venue in that city. He continued to record and release singles on the Clarion label.
