Sleepyard was formed at the Norwegian beach of Hafrsfjord by Oliver and Svein Kersbergen in 1998. Here they found their psychedelic sound and released the EP “Intersounds” the following year. "Intersounds" consisted mostly of long instrumental tracks.

Sleepyard released “The Runner” on trust me records (2003) with new tracks and the Intersounds EP.
The band also made music for the movie "Monsterthursday" in 2004.

Sleepyard released their new album “Easy tensions” in 2005. Here the focus was put on harmony vocals in the sound.

In 2006 Sleepyard contributed music to an exhibition called Color it pink in Springfield, Illinois.

"Future Lines" was released in 2009 with special guest musicians Mike Garson on piano and Sonic Boom on drones and other tones. Ranging from Exotica, Lo-Fi Pop, Psychedelic folk to classical music.
