Orphan is Southern California's most charismatic, up-and-coming rock 'n' roll bands, Having survived their share of line-up change. The band was originally called Skid Row., then Death Row, and then
finally evolved into Orphan. They are now poised and ready for the success they deserve. Based in Hollywood, the current Orphan line-up has been together since August 1989. This four-man crew consists of Shawn Crosby (lead vocals), Jamie Toi (drums), and founding members, Rusty (bass) and Mio Alvarado (guitar). Orphan is now working their way up the club circuit, mostly headlining on Sunset Strip. Orphan's music is best described as street rock, or heavy rock with a groove. "Street, to be exact," explains Shawn Crosby. "Everything we write about is based on street life in general. For example, the homeless and the girls on the strip, but not in a negative way. About people who haven't been as lucky as others. "We're a true, sincere band," continues Crosby. "We don't fake it to make it. We play what we play and that's what it is. Live, Orphan put on a powerful performance as they are uniquely known for their full-forced, passionate brand of rock n' roll.
