Big Brown House was formed in the fall of 1985 by Antioch College students Adrian Garver, Roger Garufi, Ben London and Steve Moriarty. The band recorded their only album, Scrappy James, in the basement of a house in Ann Arbor Michigan in the summer of 1988 on a Tascam 4 track. it was release in a small run of cassettes later that year. The band relocated to Seattle after graduation in 1989 and broke up in 1990. Steve Moriarty went on play drums in The Gits (2), Ben London was the singer/guitarist for Alcohol Funnycar and Adrian Garver started D.C. Beggars.
