The Led

Members: Peter Benz, Skye Stevensen, Bruce Watermeyer, Johan ver Loren van Themaat, Michael Lyster, Hendrik Malan

The LED were a South African band that existed in the mid-1990s to early 2000s, they met as students at Stellenbosch University around 1994.

Their name was derived from their fields of study, where the members were to become Lawyers, Engineers, or Doctors. Taking the first letter of each field and creating the acronym 'LED', thus naming the band 'The LED'.

Their lineup included:

Skye Stevenson - vocals, guitar, songwriter
Bruce Watermeyer - guitar
Michael Lyster - bass
Johan ver Loren van Themaat - keyboards, synthesizers, and backing vocals
Hendrik Malan - Drums (1994-1997)
Peter Benz - Drums (1997 onwards)

After releasing the bands first EP 'Last Evenings Dreams' in 1996, drummer Hendrik left the band and was replaced by Peter Benz in 1997, he played with the band until their breakup in the early 2000s.
