Banjo musician from St. Louis. Born: 1917 / Died: 1975. Appeared on the Horace Heidt radio show in the 1940's and 50's. He was also a regular on the Arthur Godfrey radio show for 6 years. An oral history interview with some riverboat jazz musicians mentions that Schirmer played banjo in a ragtime style.
