James "Bobby" R. Smith (April 20, 1931 - October 11, 2012) was an American rhythm&blues/soul producer and label executive from Macon, GA. Related to the Bobby Smith Studios & Bobby Smith Productions. Owner of the labels Confederate, Orbit (9) & Boblo Records and publisher Boblo. Often credited on labels such as Sun (9) (Shelby Singleton era) or Federal (5).
