Baden-Baden was a band from Stockholm consisting of six members: Stefan Edlund (vocals), Anders Nylander (guitar), Michael Blomquist (drums), Peter Lindvall (keyboards), Hans Lindqvist (bass) and Kenneth Fridén (guitar).The band took its name from the Baden-Baden chair . Blomquist, Lindvall and Fridén had previously (1976–1977) played in the dance band Kennix . In 1988, Lindqvist, who helped start the band Sha-Boom , was replaced by Martin Flodén.
Baden-Baden participated in the Melodifestivalen 1986 with Jag har en dröm , which ended in a shared sixth place. However, the song became a hit at Svensktoppen . [ 1 ] In 1987, they participated again with the song Leva livet, which ended up in a split seventh place.
Before participating in the Swedish Melodifestivalen , the band had been a great success and won three awards at the Sopotfestivalen , [ 2 ] the former Eastern Bloc's response to the Eurovision Song Contest , in Poland in 1984.
After successful tours in 1986 and 1987, the band continued as a pure cover band and played with varying line-ups throughout the 1990s.
