Cantorion Y Rhyd (The Rhyd singers) are a mixed choir of some 80 voices established in 1985. The members come from the Gwendraeth Valley, Ammanford, Carmarthen and the surrounding area. The Choir has been extremely successful in Welsh National Eisteddfod competitions, having won first prizes at Porthmadog and Newport and the first prize in the chief competition for mixed choirs at Llanrwst 1989. The Choir was invited to take part in an international folk festival in Brittany in 1987.
