Since the name of The Catherine Wheel was another English band with a record label under contract, the group decided to change their name to The Colour Wheel .
In 1991 they released their first, self-financed single Primary, with 4 songs. it was reviewed in the Scottish press and the band came to a first appearance at The Funny Farm on Scottish TV. The second single, Goodbye Jane, appeared one year later .
In 1994, the band had written enough songs to record their first (still self-financed) album, Darwin's Waiting Room , which a year later, together with Mrs Mac's single release , came to Glasgow's record stores. Despite a performance in a national radio show, the band did not get a record contract and disbanded in 1996.
