Bill Beeny and his Westerners

Effective period / Period of releases: 1960

Members: Dr. Bill Beeny

During the 1950's Beeny was a preacher based in St. Louis, Missouri and was active in the anti-communist and anti-civil rights movements. In the 1960's he ran for several political offices including Governor and Lt. Governor in Missouri on a segregationist and anti-communist platform. He was never elected to office. During this period he also ran an "Anti-Communist" youth ranch in Wright City, Missouri.

In his later life he gave up his political ambitions and opened a museum based on his belief that Elvis Presley had faked his death and was still living. He operated the Elvis Is Alive Museum in Wright City and published a book on this theory in 2005. In 2007 he offered the entire contents of the museum for sale here on eBay with the winning bid being $8300. He then converted the museum building into a mission center and food bank to help the poor and homeless.
