Birgit Magnusson

Real name: Birgit Maria Magnusson

Swedish rock singer, born Jacobsson, 16 March 1940 in Gävle, died 10 June 2010 in Sandhults parish, Borås

She was one of Sweden's first rock artists in the 1950s. Her big hit was the cover of Micki Marlos and Paul Anka's "What You've Done to Me". She performed it for the first time in public when she won a youth competition in Uppsala in 1958. At this time there was another artist called "Rock-Olga", but Birgit Jacobsson had to take over the name after beating the other artist in a competition.
