Костница (Kostnitsa/Ossuary) was created as a tribute to the pious traditions of the Old Believers (Cтароверы, eastern Orthodox Christians) in Russia. The purpose of the project is to recall the dramatic events of the 17th century - the split of the Russian Church, mourning the hard fate of Orthodox Christians persecuted for honoring the faith of their fathers.
