Italian Harmonists

The project to present a quintet of harmonized male voices, accompanied by a piano, was born in 2003 on the wave of a happy intuition of Andrea Semeraro; the enthusiasm produced by the harmonizations and interpretative style of the Berliners "Comedian Harmonists" (vocal group that in the 1930s had a dazzling but short international career due to the racial laws that affected half of its components) found "fertile ground" also in other friends and colleagues of the Teatro alla Scala, and in a short time the contagion was total.
After an artistic start that was proposed as a musical and stylistic re-highlighting of the great successes of the German progenitors, the "Italian Harmonists" (the chosen name wanted to represent a clear tribute) decide to extend their repertoire by revisiting some of the most beautiful songs between the '30s and' 50s, they made the "radio years" memorable, and this thanks above all to the indisputable skills of musician and arranger of the pianist Jader Costa.
From that moment on, as an ever more evident testimony to the goodness of the project, the group's activity is a succession of successes and gratifications: the recording of the first album ("Quando la radio ..."), the assignment of the "Premio Carosone 2007" (thanks to a personal reinterpretation of the classic "Tre numeri al Lotto", performed at the Arena Flegrea in Naples on September 21) and a memorable performance at the glorious "Derby Theater" in Milan, the historical stage of the Milanese music-theater scene.
We are on the right path, and in 2008 the group crossed the threshold of Sala A of Via Asiago in Rome (RAI headquarter) to perform the entire show "Quando la Radio ..." for "Radio3 Suite", whose success procures the invitation to reply at the Cappella Paolina of the Palazzo del Quirinale, on the occasion of "I Concerti del Quirinale", always with live broadcast on RAI Radio3 and further contemporary broadcast on the Euroradio circuit.
In the following years the concert activity led the group to perform in different cities and provinces of Italy (Bolzano, Trapani, Cremona, Messina, Savona, Palermo, Trieste, Torino, Ravenna, Pavia) without forgetting, of course, Milan, where we proudly remember the sold out in the temple of jazz: the BLUE NOTE, with a memorable evening in April 2011.
Significant attendance also in the context of congresses and conventions such as, for example, participation in the BEA (Best Events Awards) 2012 at the Milan office of "Il Sole24Ore".
In 2013 a prestigious acknowledgment: the silver medal of the Regione Lombardia, “For having been able to reconcile theatrical irony and vocal ductility with technical rigor and scrupulous preparation, creating a musical project that for almost 10 years has continued to establish itself as unique in its own gender".
2016 is the year of the artistic and musical turning point: a demanding vocal challenge, made of songs taken from the lyric / symphonic repertoire, always performed with the help of only the voices and the piano.
The great classical, romantic and modern authors, such as Boccherini, Rossini, Schubert, Verdi, Brahms and Puccini, the great lieder pages, the interludes, the overtures and the most suggestive pieces of the most famous works, now find their place in the new "Classicheggiando".
