Ajax Selectie
De Ajax Selectie (The Ajax selection) refers to the first team of Dutch association football club AFC Ajax from Amsterdam.
In the Netherlands, a football selection consists of 23 players (11 starters and 12 reserves). This is also the number of players that are allowed on the pitch and in the dugout during a match. These are considered the A-List players of the club. In Continental fixtures, the selection may consist of 25 players, two of whom must be goalkeepers. Furthermore, a team must put together a B-List of players both domestically and for International tournaments. The B-List players' eligibility is dependent on their age, nationality and if they are homegrown products of the club.
Over the years, several Ajax first team squads have participated in recording sessions, often times to celebrate the clubs' success.
