MP is a heavy/speed metal band from Emmendingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, that was formed in 1986. The band split up in 1993.

Although the band disbanded in 1993, its legacy continued in the former Eastern Bloc. An often disputed topic concerning the band is its name "MP". It's often said, that it stands for "Metal Priests" but it is also rumoured that it stands for "Melting Point" on the fourth and last studio album.
