Kabyle Algerian singer born in Aït Bouyahia in the commune of Beni Douala on September 6, 1945, a village in the wilaya of Tizi-Ouzou. He is one of the performers of modern Algerian music. He sings in two languages: Algerian (Algerian Arabic) and Kabyle (Berber language).He distinguished himself by his ability to sing from the 1960s to the 1980s all styles of music, as well chaabi, modern, Kabyle, hawzi (Arab-Andalusian music), as Western. The themes of his songs mainly revolve around love and its wounds. He has collaborated a lot with the Algerian songwriter Mahboub Bati.
He is popular in Algeria, in particular thanks to his songs "Errahla", "Krit el houb fi aïnik", "ya Radia" and "Ya bnete el djazair" dedicated to the Algerian woman. This song is broadcasted every year on "Women's Day" in Algeria. He had also distinguished himself through a few Kabyle songs such as "Aya hadad elfadda" and "Wardia".
He died on April 3, 1987 following a car accident in Birtouta (Algiers, Algeria).
