Garfield Akers

American blues singer and guitarist.
Born: probably in 1908 in Aiken, Tate County, Mississippi
Died: about 1959, reportedly in Hernando, DeSoto County, Mississippi

Akers recorded four titles for Vocalion in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1929-1930. Little is known about his life. He was accompanied by his friend and longtime collaborator Joe Callicott on his first recording Cottonfield Blues.
