Ricky & The Revolvers were a Japanese group of rock musicians, hired both as a stand-alone act (usually doing classic pop/rock covers and originals) or as a backing band for touring artists from overseas. They were quite visible in the early 1980s, backing Davy Jones (Monkees) on a set of five major venue concert tours, much of which was recorded and released on laserdisc and cassette. The band consisted of Fumio Hamada (drums), Masakatsu Hayashi (bass, vocals), Ryuji Harota (rhythm guitar, vocals), Takeshi Kobayashi (keyboards), and Yukiyasu Nagao (lead guitar, vocals). Each member has gone on to their own careers as performers, recording artists, and producers.
