Real name: Terry Parker

Effective period / Period of releases: 1950 - 1954

US singer, songwriter, author, jazz and pop music critic and historian from New York City, born in 1926. In 1945 he became a vocalist for Les Brown. In the late 1940s he recorded as "Johnny Eager." In January 1950 he changed his name to "Johnny Parker" (not to be confused with the late 50s rhythm & blues singer)." He joined Charlie Ventura's big band as a vocalist in February 1950. Later in the 1950s he wrote several successful songs and made solo recordings. Author of, among others, 'Baby Sittin' Boogie'. Often associated with publisher Scherer / Scherer Songs, Inc., Herb Reis Music.
