PiPE RiOT are the Rhyming Gobshite [Ettrick Skotty Scott] and the Piping Vicar [Chris Ormston]! PiPE RiOT have opened a village fete and gigged at places as wildly diverse as a women's institute meeting, a school for excluded kids, a hardcore punk festival and a bikers rally in Northumberland. They've also played storming supports for the likes of the Cornshed Sisters and John Cooper Clarke. The Crack recently described what they do as "venomous, thoughtful and very funny." Their song/poems are about topics like football hooliganism, public breastfeeding, shit cats and bad sex. One of them talks in rhyme, the other dresses like a vicar and plays Northumbrian pipes. They are political without being preachy and funny without being a novelty comedy act. All things considered, PiPE RiOT are probably the strangest act that you will see.
