Peter Abrahamsen

Real name: Peter Abrahamsen

Danish guitarist, singer, radiohost, labelmanager, producer and once the owner of the Abra Cadabra Production and part-time cajun cook (1941-2024).
Started as bicycle-courier for a record company in the 50's, where he had the chance to show his skills as a guitarplayer. Toured around in the Nordic countryes as Peter Abrams with his Skiffle Group or Rythm Rockers. Debut 1958 with the single "Won't You Wear My Ring" recorded with Jørn Grauengaard and Jørgen Ingmann.
His later interest in mergin poetry with music got him to form the "Gyldendals grammofonpladeselskab Exlibris" in the 60's and later he became manager of Metronome Records A/S. Here he managed to help artists as Sebastian (5), Pia Raug and Erik Grip with contracts etc. In this time he started the Danish litterateur wave, by couraging the artists to use danish poetry put to music, like "Svantes Viser" with Benny Andersen and Povl Dissing, Mathilde (2)'s version of Tove Ditlevsen's Pigesind, Sebastian's Bertolt Brecht songs "Tiderne skifter", Peter Thorup's recording of Tom Kristensen poetry "Rejsen til Kina", Anne Linnet's recording of Tove Ditlevsen poetry "Kvindesind" and Erik Grip's "Frank Jægers Viser".

Nominated to Danish Music Award Folk in 2008.

Abrahamsen is still playing solo, and with "Peter Abrahamsen og Bell Pepper Boys" or with the accordion-player Leif Ernstsen.
