Born in Alexandria, Nel Romano is a film-maker, writer, and musician (harpsichord & percussion) specializing in early, baroque, and classical music.
As well as directing her own ensemble, The Baroque Concertante, she was a founder-member of the Praetorius Consort. She formed the Duo Vinaccia with her husband Kevin Coates.
Whilst working at the BBC, she produced and directed “Jackanory”, “Mozart in London”, “Top Score”, and “Classic Café”.
