The orchestra was founded in 1951 as Germany's first wind band of the turner youth and celebrated its 65th anniversary in 2016.
In addition to the traditional wind music, the orchestra also plays songs from the genres Rock and Pop in a lively big-band sound.
Preetz is a small town southeast of Kiel in Schleswig-Holstein (northernmost Germany), also known as the shoemaker townand with around 16,000 inhabitants the largest city in the district.
