Violent Bear is a garage rock/folk band out of Kansas City, Missouri. The project started as a husband & wife duo in 2007 under the name The West, with Stephen Herzig on drums and Tammy Herzig on guitar. In 2015, they switched the name to Violent Bear, and recorded their self-titled debut album. In 2016, the brothers Cassity joined the project with Noah on lead guitar and Jonas on bass. In 2017 the quartet recorded their second album, Post Everything, in their basement.
