Folk singer and guitarist from Yorkshire Dales (UK).

Before becoming a musician, he had experienced a wide range of jobs, including butcher's boy, millhand, postman, farm worker, and post-mortem assistant. He started playing the guitar at London University, where he met Lyell Tranter and Glen Stuart, with whom he founded Magna Carta.

He is the frontman and main songwriter of the band. He was married to Linda Simpson, who also played with Magna Carta in a later line-up.
