US-American jazz drummer, born 11 June 1902 Savannah, Georgia, died 3 January 1948 in New York City, New York, USA.
He played in Boston with Charlie Dixon. In the early 1920s he moved to New York playing with Ralph Jones (6), Fletcher Henderson, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Jack Teagarden, McKinney's Cotton Pickers, Cab Calloway, Sidney Bechet, Benny Carter, Lionel Hampton and others
