American bluegrass guitarist and songwriter. Born in Big Sandy Mush, near Asheville, North Carolina. Studied agriculture at NC State University in Raleigh. Works as an Agriculture Agent in Johnston County, NC and lives near Benson, NC.
After college, he joined Carolina Road on guitar. After four years he joined the James King Band. Later, he spent eight years fronting Constant Change, a group of young Central NC musicians. While with this group, Wells had some of his songs recorded by Constant Change, Junior Sisk and Rambler's Choice, the Bartley Brothers, and the Lost and Found. After filling in several dates with Lost and Found in 2012, he officially joined the group in 2013.
