Blues singer, born August 31, 1907, in Summer, Mississippi. Moving to Chicago to work outside music in the early 1930s. Recorded for Vocalion, Decca, and Bluebird 1935-1938, with a lone postwar session for Aladdin in 1947 (as Dirty Red (6)). He is known to have worked with Muddy Waters at club dates in Chicago in the 1960s.
