G-Wiz

Effective period / Period of releases: 1993 - 1994

Members: Jamahl Harris, Ron 'Farve' Martin, Craig Cummins

South Central, Los Angeles based group, G-Wiz consists of Jamahl '"Jamiz" Harris, Craig "Rascal" Cummins, Ron "Farve" Martin, and Kevin "Trick'e" Williams, who offer a Hip-Hop and R&B street sound that is neither hard or soft. Instead of adapting to the musical landscape during their peak time, which was angry and explicit, G-Wiz choose to create music to party to. While under the wing of Mike Concepcion, they landed a deal Scottie Bros. Records and had a hit with the single "Teddy Bear", which was later remixed by Teddy Riley. The singles "Come and Play With Me" and "Y-U-Doggin Me" followed. Shortly after releasing their debut EP, Naughty Bits, they contributed a song to the Blackman soundtrack. The group then moved to Interscope Records to release the single "Dirty Luv".
