Formed in 1975. Mister Loco was an offshoot band established by previous members; Jorge García Castil, Rafael Acosta & Javier Garza Alarcon from the Mexican rock band 'Los Locos Del Ritmo'. That same year, they won Yamaha Music Festival with their song 'Lucky Man' under category: 'Best International Band'. Also that year they released their self-titled album on Orfeon records. Their sound range somewhere inbetween folk or pop-rock and funk, and lyrics are mostly sung in English.
In 2006, the band got a new revival, thanks to movie-director Jared Hess, who is a good friend of >Beck. Beck helped out Jared with the soundtrack to his movie Nacho Libre, starring Jack Black. And as he owned their album, (even knew the members of the band). he see it perfectly fit to use their music with the film. He used 'Religious Man (i am i am)' as the title song in it, and also 'Bubble Gum' and 'Papas' to fit in the rest of the film.
