José Vázquez Vals was a Spanish flamenco singer (cantaor), best known in the artistic world of flamenco singing by Platero De Alcalá, was born in Alcalá de Guadaira (Sevilla) in 1912 and died in this same town of Alcalá de Guadaira in 1985. Good singer, he never reached great popularity, although he recorded in 1929 with Niño Ricardo and in 1972 with Eduardo de la Malena.
