The Californians (California)

Adolph Hampton, Vergia Nicholson, Bobby Odom, Jesse Belvin

The Californians were a vocal group from California, consisting of Adolph Hampton, Vergia Nicholson, Bobby Odom, and the well-known Jesse Belvin. In 1955, they recorded two songs for Federal Records: "Heavenly Ruby" and "My Angel." These tracks were released on July 5, 1955. Despite the talent within the group, including the notable presence of Jesse Belvin, their recordings did not achieve significant commercial success, and little else is known about the group's subsequent activities.
