Whether chopping and saturating classic breaks, or manifesting broken, sub-driven, rhythms from the ground up, AVOW91 always places a strong emphasis on generating a product that is not only unquestionably odd but also forward thinking. AVOW91 creates visceral, auditory landscapes using both natural & electronic elements to ensure sonic balance is kept while simultaneously exploring the boundaries of what we consider music. Growing up with a punk rock, metal and hip-hop background, AVOW91’s music naturally leans towards a contradictory nature where honest clarity and blind rage can be heard weaving through each other. In 2016 AVOW91 founded the Brooklyn NY based record label & collective, Stygian Noise. The label was formed as a way to create an original sound that draws from the collective’s individual influences while still being rooted in a shadowy, crunchy, electronic style.
