Minneapolis natives Hill, Greenly, and Fjerstad connected in Los Angeles. In 2013, Greenly brought three demos to the table and recruited John Kyle to play drums, who previously played with him in Lightsystem. Hill and Fjerstad also began contributing to the writing pool, soon taking over the majority of writing duties. In 2015, they recorded their debut album with John Henry (of Darkest Hour) and did the next two with Mike Kriebel at Golden Beat Studios.
