Studied composition and percussion in Bern, Amsterdam, and from 1995 to 2001 with Dieter Schnebel in Berlin. Has played with various classical orchestras, and in bands with Peter and Caspar Brötzmann (Massaker), Stephan Wittwer, Werner Lüdi, Marino Pliakas, Alex Buess, William Parker, Bill Laswell, Toshinori Kondo, Mark Trayle, Olaf Rupp, Holger Czukay, John Cale. Since 2005 he also teaches at the Humboldt University in Berlin.
