Misako Ōshiro (or sometimes Misako Ohshiro). The grand old lady of Okinawan song. Born in Osaka 8 Aug 1936, but moved to Henoko in Okinawa several years later. Studied with 知名定繁 before releasing her first single "Kata umui" in 1962. Ran a music bar in Naha, Okinawa called Shima Umui.
