Slut Magic is an angsty, sonic make-out session from Brooklyn, New York. Slut Magic has the most attractive fans in the world. Their unrelenting love for Britney is why their own "you-guys-this-shit-is-unhinged" take on Toxic is here now. It follows their sludgy, creepy, Valentine's Day 2021 cover of Say You'll Be There.
Over the past three years, the band—composed of Emma Sky (vocals and violin), Hot Boyfriend (guitar), Shannon Zakarison (drums), and Marc Hall (bass)—has made dream-inspired indie punk and garage pop with Laruicci Records and Rock Hand Records.
Slut Magic's 2020 album, Trauma Queen (which includes singles Help Me, Picnic Day, and Salsa Red), was unleashed on toxic-green vinyl via Rock Hand Records. Due to the ongoing apocalypse, the release party was an Elvira-inspired Total Request Live—each track was accompanied by a music video. This follows the 2018 release of In My Mouth on Laruicci Records.
Now that live music is becoming ethical, safe, and vaccinated, the group is booking shows again! To get those stage bodies back, they have traded daily servings of pizza, ice cream, and drugs for boxing, pilates, and drugs! They believe that Dark Purple and Rainbow Eyes (featuring Polaroid Purple and Gud Babu, respectively) are great cardio songs. And drug songs. And pizza and ice cream songs.
