The Advantage

The Advantage is an American rock band, based in Sacramento, California. They specialize in math rock covers of 8-bit video game music from the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The band formed in 1998 in Nevada City, California and originally consisted of Nick Rogers (2) and Forrest Harding (both of whom are no longer in the band). Cassie Stewart played bass briefly and Spencer Seim joined on drums. At the time the band called themselves Generic.

The band re-formed into its current quartet of Robby Moncrieff on guitar, Ben Milner (2) on guitar, Carson McWhirter on bass and Spencer Seim remaining on drums. Remonikered and refreshed, they released their self-titled, debut album: The Advantage in 2004 on 5 Rue Christine.
