Biography
Ricardo Benítez
Flutist, songwriter. Originally from Camagüey, Cuba. He started studying flute at the National School of Arts in Camagüey at age 11 and worked as a flute teacher at the Professional School of Art in that city. In 1984 he was part of the Camagüey Symphony Orchestra as an alternate soloist, and in 1986 he traveled to Mexico, where he settled permanently, to work under the tutelage of maestro Miguel Salas.
