Errol Osbourne aka Johnny Osbourne, born in 1948 in Jones Town, Kingston, Jamaica, is a popular reggae and dancehall singer, who rose to success in the late 1970s and mid-1980s. Osbourne is a past student of the famed Alpha Boys School in Kingston where he learn trumpet and chant.
He began singing with The Wild Cats and made his first recordings for Clement "Coxsone" Dodd, then quickly went solo for Winston Riley and The Sensations, releasing his first album or compilation in 1970 "Come Back Darling" and his second in 1973 "Ready Or Not". In 1977, he left for Canada, where he recorded a number of tracks with Ishan People. He returned to Jamaica the following year, where he recorded several hits for Studio One and his third album in 1979 (Truths And Rights), which was one of the best of the period. From then on, he released a series of albums, crossing the dancehall period without a hitch with many recordings well into the 2000's.
