Verónika con K. was born as Nicanora Verónica Hernández Ávila in Santo Domingo, Oaxaca, Mexico. When she was young she moved to Acapulco, Guerrero, where she started a career as a radio singer, her voice led her to participate in the famous program Siempre en Domingo in 1971, conducted by Raúl Velasco, it was so successful that episode did not take long launching his first album as a singer of tropical music and then made his debut in acting.
