Yann Nibor
Real name: Jean Albert Robin
Yann Nibor was a pseudonym of French sailor, maritime poet, songwriter, illustrator, and the National Order of the Legion of Honour recipient, Albert Robin (4 October 1857, Saint-Malo, Ille-et-Vilaine — 24 September 1947, La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, Loire-Atlantique). He came from a long-lasting dynasty of sailors, most renowned for his writings about Navy and maritime life. Robin served as the librarian at the French Ministry of the Navy and was acquainted with many prolific artists and writers in Paris, including Sarah Bernhardt, Robert de Montesquiou, and Marcel Proust.
