Lorens Brolin

Swedish fiddler and composer, born 10 December 1818 in Bondrum in Fågeltofta parish, died 10 February 1890 in Skivarp, Örmölla.

He was a skilled musician and often played difficult songs such as Stenbockens polska or Klånkepolska with several pizzicatons and runs, which he performed with great elegance. He was never a peasant fiddler in the true sense of the word, as he seldom played for dance, but his repertoire was still that of a peasant fiddler. Several of his sons became prominent musicians, including national fiddler Carl Fredrik Lorensson (1857-1933) who participated in the National Fiddler's Meeting at Skansen in 1910.
