Real name: Elias Gourji
Filfel Gourji is an Iraqi Jewish singer who was born in Baghdad in 1935. He was known as one of the greatest performers of Maqams and Iraqi folk music. In 1950, he immigrated to Israel following a rise in anti-Jewish violence in Iraq. In Israel he continued to perform on the radio and around the world. He died in 1983. During his lifetime he released 3 LPs.
