Real name: Johnny Killen

Johnny K (died, March 17, 2003) was a native of Macon, Ga., Mr. Killen was a graduate of Gibbs High School and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He put together his first group Johnny "K" And The Dynamites at age 31, after appearing on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson
In 1960, he struck out on his own, with performances that included the R&B duo Sam & Dave at the Apollo Theater in New York City.
Later on in life he became an ordained minister and worked for the Pinellas Opportunity Council in St.Petersburg, Florida and as a trolley driver at the Pier.
He was 64 when he died and had battled multiple sclerosis since 1995
